<content>Brent Simmons "is spot on":http://inessential.com/?comments=1&amp;postid=3398 in pining for the need for simple software. I think his blogging example is especially relevant.

With my latest refresh of this site I killed off the tags for posts. Why? There were plenty of times I would struggle to tag a post, and I was loathe to create so many new tags that they begin to lose their meaning as a form of categorization (yes, I'm also compulsive about deleting things from my del.icio.us account to keep it manageable). Most of the time I found it easier to just use the search field instead.

There is something freeing about not having to worry how to categorize what I'm writing and just simply publish it when I'm finished. It also keeps the Simplist code base smaller, which is always an added bonus.</content>
